Nach Angaben der Hans Böckler Stiftung [1] waren von den 333.377 sozialversicherungspflichtig Beschäftigten im Jahr 2019 73,3 Prozent männlich und 26,7 Prozent weiblich. 22 von 100 Beschäftigten waren zudem älter als 55 Jahre. Da stellt sich die Frage: Ist die Kunststoffindustrie nur etwas für den alten weißen Mann? Darüber sprachen Kunststoffe-Chefredakteurin Susanne Schröder und Redakteurin Melanie Ehrhardt mit Sandra Füllsack, CEO der Motan Gruppe – Start der Reihe „Frauen in der Kunststoffindustrie“.
Zahl des Monats: Equal Pay Day
Die Zahl des Monats ist dieses Mal ein Datum: Am 6. März ist Equal Pay Day. Der Aktionstag macht auf den prozentualen Unterschied (Gender Pay Gap) im durchschnittlichen Bruttoverdienst von Frauen und Männern aufmerksam. In Deutschland liegt die Lücke derzeit bei 18 Prozent (sogenannter „unbereinigter Gender Pay Gap“). Das heißt, angenommen Männer und Frauen bekommen den gleichen Stundenlohn: Dann steht der Equal Pay Day für den Tag in einem Kalenderjahr, bis zu dem Frauen theoretisch unbezahlt arbeiten, während Männer schon ab dem 1. Januar für ihre Arbeit entlohnt werden. [2]
