Then in National Native News, a 29 year-old cold case comes to a close. Steven Downs has been convicted of the 1993 murder of Sophie Sergie at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, but at a vigil for Sergie held Friday, the Fairbanks Native Association said unsolved homicides of Alaska Native women need more resources.
