  • Man pleads guilty to role in robberies targeting Brinks trucks in Philly and Montco
One of two men indicted by the Feds for allegedly robbing several Brinks trucks has admitted his role in a series of ambushes.
Mujahid Davis, 24, pleaded guilty to five robbery and gun-related offenses linked to four Brinks truck robberies last year in both Philadelphia and Elkins Park, Montgomery County.
Davis and 26-year-old Dante Shackleford were indicted last year following a police chase near Lower Merion after an attempted robbery last October.
Davis is expected to be sentenced in August and could face the rest of his life in prison and a possible $1.5 million fine.

  • Demonstrators to flood Center City on Saturday as part of national 'No Kings' protests
More than 9 million people are expected to take part in No Kings protests Saturday across the nation.
More than 3,100 rallies are planned in all 50 states, against President Donald Trump's policies, which organizers call "horrific" and "sadistic." Center City and Quakertown are among the scheduled sites in our area.
The Center City march is scheduled to start around noon, according to city officials. There will be road closures along the Ben Franklin Parkway and surrounding streets between 5 a.m. and 7 p.m.
SEPTA bus routes will also be affected, with detours scheduled.
The White House has called the events "leftist funding networks," while President Trump previously responded by insisting attendees were "not representative" of the American people.

  • Pro-Iranian hacking group says it hacked FBI Director Kash Patel's personal account
A pro-Iranian hacking group is claiming to have hacked an account of FBI Director Kash Patel. Documents were posted online of what appear to be years-old photographs of him, along with a work resume and other personal documents.
The group Handala posted a message taking credit for the breach. The message was accompanied by more than a half-dozen photos of the FBI director. One shows Patel standing beside an antique sports car and another with a cigar in his mouth.
The FBI had no immediate comment, but a person familiar with the matter confirmed that a personal email account of Patel’s had been breached.
It's not clear when the breach might have occurred, but news reports from December 2024 said that Patel had been informed by the FBI that he had been targeted as part of an Iranian hack.

  • Boil water advisory issued for parts of Delaware County
People in parts of Delaware County are being told to boil their water before drinking it, following a water main break that led to low water pressure. This affects people in Upper and Lower Chichester, Marcus Hook, and Twin Oaks.
The Chester Water Authority calls this a precautionary measure, and no contamination has been detected. It has set up two water filling stations, where people can bring their own bottles to fill with clean water. They are located at the Upper Chichester Township Municipal Building and the Marcus Hook Borough Administrative Office.
