A necropsy is being performed on a dead whale that was caught on the bow of a ship at a marine terminal in Gloucester City, New Jersey.

The U.S. Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay made the discovery on Sunday night.

The whale is about 25-30 feet in length. It was tentatively identified as a fin whale.

NOAA’s Office of Law Enforcement is investigating.
