Some help for SNAP recipients in Delaware who are worried about losing their benefits next month.

Democratic Governor Matt Meyer has declared a state of emergency, enabling the state to use emergency money to fund SNAP through November as the federal government shutdown continues.

30th Street Station was evacuated overnight after a briefcase with wires sticking out of it was found on a luggage rack of an Amtrak train. Someone reported it to police around 12:30 a.m. The bomb squad was brought in and determined it wasn't dangerous. The briefcase had some electronic equipment inside it. A local animal shelter was on the receiving end of a major milestone. The ASPCA placed the 300,000th pet in its animal relocation program with the Brandywine Valley SPCA on Tuesday. KYW Newsradio's Vik Raghupathi has more on the spirited three-legged pup.
