Officials are investigating the accidental release of a dry chemical fire extinguishing agent into Grenloch Lake in Washington Township.

A complaint was filed on Thursday with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection about a white, filmy substance on the water, prompting a response from the Gloucester County Hazmat Response Unit and the Washington Township Fire Department.

Investigators traced the source to an accidental discharge of an ABC dry chemical fire extinguishing agent at the New Jersey Transit bus garage along Route 42.

The material entered a nearby waterway before collecting in the southern end of Grenloch Lake.

Fewer than 25 pounds of the low-toxicity material were released. Officials expect it to have little impact on aquatic life.

Crews will continue monitoring the lake and oversee any cleanup that may be needed.

A man was found on fire in Kensington overnight.

It appears he may have set the fire himself.

The fire marshal determined that the blaze was "non-suspicious."

It happened around 3:30 a.m. at Kensington Avenue and J Street.

Police found the man unconscious on the sidewalk, along with burned clothing and two lighters near his body.

The man is in critical condition but is expected to survive.

A person was killed in an early-morning, fast-spreading townhouse fire in Lansdale, Montgomery County. KYW Newsradio's Tim Jimenez reports live from the scene.

Two Pennsylvania men were arrested in Sea Isle City, accused of assaulting police officers who were trying to break up their fight.

Police say 31-year-old Patrick McStravog, of Audubon, fought with 60-year-old Robert McMonagle, of Norristown. While they were being treated on scene by EMS, police say McMonagle tried to get back to McStravog and hit a Sea Isle City officer in the chest in the process.

Police tried to arrest McMonagle and say he resisted. Meanwhile, McStravog left medics and tried to approach McMonagle. Officials say he then assaulted an officer as well. Physical force had to be used on both of them to complete the arrests, according to police.

Two officers were hurt, one badly enough to require hospitalization. Both McMonagle and McStravog are charged with aggravated assault, among other offenses.

Police have identified one of two burglary suspects believed to have taken about $10,000 worth of Pokémon trading cards and collectibles from a Washington Township shop in early July.

The mayor of Darby, Delaware County, Joar Dahn, says he's "in a lot of pain" but grateful his injuries are not more serious.

Dahn says he was involved in a hit-and-run crash on LaSalle University's campus Tuesday night.

He says he was driving on East Wister Avenue when another driver blew a stop sign on Elkins Avenue, crashed into his car, and then sped away.

The mayor was hospitalized for his injuries.

Dahn is hopeful that doorbell cameras or LaSalle's security cameras captured the incident.

He says he's grateful to everyone who has reached out with prayers, messages and well wishes.

She was in the drive-thru lane of a Dunkin' Donuts when a medical jet crashed in Northeast Philly last year.

Khlood Hammad says she was subjected to blast forces, shockwaves and trauma by seeing “gruesome, disfigured human remains.”

She's one of two people who have filed new lawsuits against the jet's operator, the Mexican company Med Jets.

Hammad says she had physical injuries like trauma to her ears, dizziness and emotional distress.

Yunelly Cervera says she saw the crash from her home. She's also suing for emotional distress, saying debris and human remains were falling from the sky and landed on her property right in front of her.

Dozens of other lawsuits have already been filed against the company. Med Jets has not commented.
