We are a lifestyle brand and we are born with an awareness: the answer to saving these professions lies in a fundamental change of perspective, or in recognizing that behind every handmade good there is a human being. A face, a story, a memory, a happiness but above all a hope.

A growing devaluation and dissociation of man from craftsmanship, from the process to the product, is one of the major shortcomings of our developing world. The use of craftsmen – weavers, embroiderers, beautifiers and everything else – is excellent for what it brings to people: a livelihood. In developing countries like India, Cambodia, Kenya and Indonesia, it is absolutely necessary.

Là Fuori aims to make all the protagonists of “handmade” more visible and to give their collections the human and emotional imprint of their creators, scattered around the world.

Last autumn we were in Barmer in India to visit an NGO of women embroiderers who work in a protected place: their production mainly focused on clothing and tablecloths. We were so fascinated by their welcome that we commissioned a part of our future collection. Well, during the pandemic we managed to get in touch with them and we received amazing photos, which portray our artisan women in the creation of 100% cotton face masks and other protective goods to help the community, like gloves and scarfs. Open but always smiling, with their mastery and courage, they face a moment of total unease with a creative vision that overcomes the daily difficulties with positivity and tenacity.

Là Fuori, therefore, immediately took action: as ethical brand we donated economic support to the community and we commissioned thousands of masks to be sent not just to the USA but also to Italy.

Being on the road with us means going in search of mutual diversity in the world, mutual beauties, mutual hopes.

We like to call ourselves “nomadic explorers of the fabric” who unwind a skein of colored and shiny thread around a person who, thanks to the beauty of their art and craft, represents a source of inspiration in the world and they are often unaware of it.

We want to visit these people. Knock on their doors. Know their stories, their secrets, their families. Give a voice to their creativity and open with them a dialogue of aesthetic comparison, a face to discover ancient age old knowledge and to regenerate new forms.
