I picked up this book because I love Mr. Callanan's voice and I am glad I did.
It starts out like any other story, character intros, showing the dynamics between the main characters. I was zoning out a bit in the beginning at the very detailed scenes, BUT... am I glad the author did that because the twist in the story is major, I mean life-altering major, I did not expect and what happens after is very detailed and eye-opening for somebody who has not gone thru that. It is about love, loyalty, friendship, family, what it means to have those when you need them the most. The book has crazy LOL moments, steamy dirty-talk scenes, and tear jerker ones too.
It ends well, but have tissues ready. Emma and Riley's wows are just beautiful, the nicknames for each other cracked me up. It put me thru the emotional wringer, but OH SO WORTH IT !!!
I think this is the best I heard so far from Mr. Callanan. He outdid himself in every way, the various voices, the emotions, the passionate delivery made this an enjoyable experience.
