Seek and you shall find. If you asked Allegra Monserrat what that phrase means to her, it's more than a cliche. It has been her reality since she was 13 when she immigrated to the United States to escape domestic violence. With just her sister in tow, Allegra experienced what life is like for someone going through the U.S. immigration system. With no parents and no adult family to advocate for her, Allegra quickly learned when life gives you lemons you make lemonade. Her journey has been anything but easy and perseverance has been key in her success.
