Cydra Wingerter joins John and Katrena to discuss her role in the beginnings of Leadership Lafayette and why she loves Lafayette so much. Don't miss it!
Many of you know Don Bacqué as a loyal public servant and a dedicated Vietnam veteran, well-known in Lafayette for his community activism and warm, friendly disposition. Don served as a State Representative for Lafayette’s District 43 from 1988 to 1992, bringing a wealth of experience and commitment to his role.
In 1986, Bacqué was the founding chair of Leadership Lafayette, a program sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce designed to train community leaders. This initiative has equipped hundreds of individuals with the insights necessary to understand the dynamics of running a community. Many graduates have gone on to become elected officials and active supporters of various initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life in Lafayette, Louisiana. Moreover, in 1982, as chair of the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce, Don's leadership skills were pivotal in fostering community development and engagement.
