Welcome to episode 21 of the Laid Off Lads Podcast!
We start off this weeks pod with an update on the 5 named storms of the season and compare them to our previous predictions from pod 17. And just to put it in writing, our respective predictions for the most damaging storms this year are: Teresa (Ferris), Odette (Boyce), and Rose (Phil).
Next we talk hotdogs! Why are hotdogs and hotdog buns not packaged in equal amounts? Boyce challenges the Lads to enter a contest by the National Hotdog & Sausage Council to see who can become the nation’s Hotdog Ambassador. We recap the Nathan’s 4th of July hot dog eating contest. We also hit on the Olympics without fans, and the repercussions of now following the drug protocols. The president of Haiti was assassinated last week which leads to this week’s trivia question, name the US Presidents who have been assassinated. All that and a bunch of other nonsense awaits.

Welcome to episode 20 of the Laid Off Lads Podcast!
On the 1 year anniversary of becoming the first lad to be laid off, Boyce recounts his experience when he was given the news that he was no longer employed after 27 years with the company. The lads talk about planning a visit the parks to find some closure and come to terms with their fate and how strange it would be attending as a guest after years of walking the parks in a management capacity. Find out what they miss the most about their former jobs.
Things then take an unexpected spooky turn. Phil and Ferris hear a disembodied voice in Ferris’ apartment that defies all rational explanation. Is his apartment haunted or does Phil have a ghost that’s attached to him? Phil and Ferris talk about their experiences with sleep paralysis and the dark shadowy figures that coincide with it and Boyce shares his experiences with “exploding head syndrome” when he sleeps. Scary movies and other spooky situations await in episode 20.

Welcome to the 19th installment of the Laid Off Lads Podcast!
In this weeks tangent we talk about life without the internet exposing the vast age gap between the 3 of us. Boyce remembers life with no internet, Ferris remembers life with primitive internet, and baby boy Phil has always lived his life with the luxury of full internet. We bash Spectrum internet and their horrendous reliability. We reminisce about the days of Myspace and our bad ass page set ups. Ferris is hung over again and needs a nap, which poses the question, what’s the ideal time to nap and which sport is the best to nap to?
Then we turn to sports…Phil expresses his deep disdain for baseball “the game anyone can play, the game that requires no skill”. What would your walk up song be if you were a baseball player? Which sport is the most exciting to watch? Boyce and Ferris make a bet about who will win the Stanley Cup, what was wagered? Is sports betting good for sports and which sport is the best to bet on. Find out which sport Phil played where he was named an all-star.
We wrap up the pod with Boyce in a rage as Spectrum internet proves a point we made at the beginning.

Welcome to Episode 18 of the Laid Off Lads Podcast!
In this week’s opening tangent Boyce celebrates his crotchety old birthday and he just wants to be left alone. We share our feelings on birthday celebrations and whether we celebrate the day or the week. We talk about Amazon’s acquisition of MGM, Amazon stores, and the growing trend of consumerism becoming automated with fewer employees and more self-checkouts. The frightening ease of ordering items on Alexa and the hilarious story of the time we took advantage of it at a friend’s house. Door to door solicitors not respecting no soliciting signs. Ferris loosens up from his typically rigid and stiff presence on the pod as he lets his ADD take over his motor functions. We wrap up with the complexities of conceal carrying a gun.
Our Topic of the Week comes to us care of strangelists.com “10 Strangest Facts You Want to Know”. These are indeed some very bizarre and intriguing facts that you won’t want to miss, and will leaving you thinking, “No Sh$t.”

Episode 17 of the Laid Off Lads Podcast has arrived!
This weeks opening tangent we talk about smoking, the ban of menthols, and each of our histories with tobacco. The Colonial Pipeline hack and the ensuing gas hike that spurred dozens of viral videos of people pouring gasoline into the most dangerous containers. Hoarding and panic buying of supplies during crisis situations. South Carolina institutes the firing squad as an approved means of execution. We talk about various methods of execution and which method each of us would choose if we were on death row.
Our Topic of the Week…Hurricane Season! June 1st kicks off the most exciting time of the year for the east and gulf coasts. We review each of the hurricane names for 2021. While the list is littered with the most dull and average names in recent history, we make our predictions of which will be the most catastrophic based on the name alone.

In our opening tangent we talk about the Chinese rocket that’s spinning out of control in space and will crash to earth this week; the recent big nose big dick study; the Bill & Melinda Gates divorce and the ballsy agreement he had with his soon-to-be ex before they got married. Do people still rob banks? Who the hell robs banks? One was getting robbed in mid-pod this week. Phil and Ferris got wasted during Cinco de Mayo and Ferris almost gets into a bar fight. Welcome to Episode 15 of the Laid Off Lads Podcast!
In this week’s opening tangent we hit on the recent Space X launch and who among us have actually driven the 45 minutes to the Kennedy Space Center to watch a launch in our lives. Bitcoin…what is it, how does it work, and our feeble, head spinning attempt to explain it to Ferris. Phil wants to know, would you want to live forever? How about the ability to have complete knowledge of everything imaginable? Ranch dressing - what’s the fascination with it? What do/would you put it on? Boyce’s kid puts it on a questionable food. We talk about our favorite words and Boyce takes a crotchety turn to his most hated words. If Phil had a kid he would name it after a specific type of pasta? Which pasta is it?
Our Topic of the Week – If you could steal anything in the world that would fit in your house, what would it be? Find out what would adorn our homes with.
After the Topic of the Week we close with a few more unexpected tangents as we talk about our feelings on Lebron James and egotistical athletes. Entertainment and music award shows, are they warranted or is it another forum to feed their egos? Is there a movie that you are dying for a sequel to come out?

Episode 14 of the Laid Off Lads Podcast is here!
When you find yourselves starting each pod on a tangent, you recognize it, embrace it, and label it The Opening Tangent!
In this week’s Opening Tangent…when is it too early to start drinking? It shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone what our conclusion is on this one. We then dive into the growing trend of apologies given by people in the public eye for an endless variety of offenses, including things they’ve said in old social media posts from their past. Boyce continues his trend of self incrimination as he talks about his penchant for shock value humor and the countless apologies he’d have to give if his phone texts were ever revealed to the world. He then hinders his ability to find future employment as he reveals a questionable decision making technique he used in his previous job and how he went 17 years without a cell phone bill.
(Ferris still hasn’t watched The Office)
What’s the Topic for week 14 is…PHOBIAS! Find out what our worst fears and phobias are, and if you’re lucky, you may be able to use them against us one day. We conclude the segment with a list of the 10 strangest phobias you’ve ever heard of. Phil hosts this part of the segment as Boyce and Ferris try to guess the phobia based on the name.

Welcome to Episode 13 of the Laid Off Lads Podcast!
We open this week’s pod with a tangent…what’s one thing you would bring to a deserted island? If you looted a Target what’s the one item you would grab? Ferris shares a completely random Target impulse buy that’s been in his closet for a year with receipt intact. BOLO for this item if you have a birthday coming up, because he’s ready to pass it on. Do it yourself jobs…Boyce takes apart his washing machine and Ferris talks about a relatively unknown YouTube stud named Steve who can fix anything.
Boyce goes on a rage rant after his internet line was cut during maintenance on his irrigation system leaving his family without internet for 3 whole days. Which leads to What’s the Topic for this week…1st World Problems.
What are the things we take for granted in our society and what can/can’t we live without? How long can you go without your cell phone? Do you remember a time when there was no GPS and people used road maps? Would Gen Z survive without 1st world luxuries? You know Phil has a take on that.
Ferris takes his fascination for all things creepy to the oldest city in America, and then he and his lady explore an abandoned mansion in the depths of Central Florida.

This week we start off with our favorite TV shows of all time. Guess which absolutely epic, classic, all-time great show Ferris has never seen? It will blow your mind. We cover some absolutely solid must-watch docs.
Next we transition to music - our favorite rappers of all time, west coast vs east coast, and Boyce talks about how he introduced a school bus full of white suburban Pennsylvania kids to Public Enemy in the early 90’s.
Hitting on a random topic we discuss restaurant seating arrangements with your significant other, sitting across from them or next to them? We also share key strategies of where to sit in a restaurant for safety and Boyce gives a potentially lifesaving tip using ketchup.
What’s the Topic for this week was submitted by Phil’s Ma, Lisa…what are the best pranks we’ve pulled? Tune in to hear some of the goofiest shenanigans we’ve pulled.
