We come across warnings almost every day. These warnings are meant to keep us from endangering ourselves or doing something that could haunt us later in life. In Proverbs 6, God gives us practical warnings to bless us and shape our hearts to love Him.
All of us desire to live a life that is blessed or happy. Often, the way the world pursues happiness is the exact opposite of how the Scriptures call us to pursue it. How can we walk in wisdom to experience the blessing of God in our lives? To answer this question, we must understand the value of wisdom.
Proverbs 3 is a wonderful reminder to the wise to continue to pursue the blessing of God through faithfulness to his word; and it is only the gospel of Jesus that enables us to do this.
Proverbs challenges us to think deeply about the challenges and realities of life in our world. Chapter 2 is an invitation to all believers to learn how we grow in our sanctification and how God uses wisdom to shape, form, and grow us.
In this passage, the writer of Proverbs wants to both encourage and warn his readers to take heed of his words lest they fall into destruction. In our own strength we are insufficient for the challenges of the day. How do we walk in wisdom as we follow Jesus in the world?
Today we begin our series in Proverbs: The Sayings of Summer. Over the next several weeks, we'll study the first few chapters of the book in order to better apply the wisdom of God to our daily lives.
In this message, LMBC Elder Tony Steffee addresses an ever-present challenge of Christian discipleship. What do I do when I DON'T desire to follow Christ? A disciple must be on guard against the deceitfulness of sin and see that the Gospel really is our only hope.
Listen as LMBC Elder Justin Koon leads us through Matthew Chapter 8. In this passage, Jesus shares the true cost of following Him. A disciple follows Jesus even though it is costly, and a disciple follows Jesus above anything else.
Jesus' healing of a blind man in John 9 provides a miraculous Portrait of Discipleship. To be a disciple of Jesus is to be with Jesus, be changed by Jesus, and be sent by Jesus.
Today we introduce our new series, Portraits of Discipleship. Matthew 4 defines a disciple as one who is following Jesus, being changed by Jesus, and on mission with Him.
