The central truth from Jesus' message to Sardis is still applicable to the modern church; that He awakens us from spiritual slumber into faithful service and full fellowship with the Father.

Just as He commanded the church at Thyatira, Jesus calls us to reject false teaching and unfaithful practice by holding fast to His word and promise.

This week we will study the words written to the church at Pergamum. Jesus calls the church to repent of idolatry and immorality in return for His promises of inheritance, invitation, and identity.

Today we'll examine the words written to the church at Smyrna.  In this passage, we will find how Christian suffering leads to spiritual enrichment, calls for faithful endurance, and secures a reward of eternal significance.
