We live in a world obsessed with numbers, statistics, and measuring success. But do the things we count always reflect the things that truly matter? In Luke 21:1–4, Jesus notices a poor widow whose seemingly insignificant offering reveals something profound about the economics of God's kingdom. Tune in as we consider how Jesus sees what the world overlooks, values what the world undervalues, and measures generosity differently than we do. But ultimately, this familiar account points us beyond the widow's sacrifice to the far greater sacrifice of Jesus himself—the ultimate and perfect giver, who gave everything so that we might receive the riches of his grace. Before we ever offer anything to God, we discover that God has already given everything for us in Christ.

In Luke 20:9–18, Jesus tells a pointed parable about a vineyard, its tenants, and an owner whose patience is repeatedly rejected. While the original audience may have understood exactly whom Jesus was confronting, the warning contained in his words remains remarkably relevant for the Church today. What happens when God's people forget who they are, why they're here, and the grace that brought them this far? And how might we unknowingly fall into the very same traps as those who rejected Jesus? Tune in as we consider the danger of misplaced confidence, the importance of remembering our calling, and the invitation to build our lives upon the only foundation that will never fail.

What does faithful Christian witness look like in a world increasingly skeptical of the gospel? In Luke 20:1–8, Jesus faces religious leaders who challenge His authority—but their questions reveal far more about their own hearts than they intend. This passage invites us to consider not only the message we proclaim, but the way we proclaim it and the motivations that drive us. In a culture often governed by approval, popularity, and shifting opinions, Jesus shows us what it means to remain anchored in truth, grace, and a faith that is willing to follow Him wherever He leads.

We often assume that a meaningful life must be an extraordinary one—marked by great accomplishments, influence, or visible impact. But in 1 Thessalonians 4:9–12, the Apostle Paul offers a surprisingly different picture. What if some of the most important work God does in and through us happens not on a grand stage, but in the quiet, ordinary rhythms of everyday life? Tune in as we consider the dignity of ordinary faithfulness and the surprising ways God uses it for purposes far greater than we can see.

As Jesus approaches Jerusalem in Luke 19, a familiar scene unfolds with an easily overlooked phrase: “The Lord has need of it.”  But what could the One who created and sustains all things possibly need? Tune is as we look more closely at Jesus’ journey toward the cross and what this seemingly small phrase reveals about the surprising way he chooses to involve ordinary people—and even ordinary things—in his extraordinary, redemptive work.

In classic Jesus-fashion, he weaves hard truth and extravagant mercy together in a parable about nobleman, far country kingdoms, and industrious servants, but to what end? That we would see what waiting, working, and watching truly look like in light of his saving grace. Listen is as we continue our journey through Luke's gospel.

Whether you recollect as a child singing, "Zacchaeus was a wee little man, a wee little man was he. He climbed up in that sycamore tree for the Lord he wanted to see..." or you're meeting our tree-climbing friend for the first time, his story is one of amazing grace. His ill-gotten wealth and short stature can't keep Jesus from seeing him, and in seeing him, loving him. Come listen as we consider what it looks like when graces comes home and allows us to see things for what they really are.

What happens when we recognize that we don’t see ourselves, our world, or our need for God as clearly as we think we do? Conversely, what happens when we have gospel-granted self-awareness of our need and shortcomings? In Luke 18, we encounter a powerful moment that invites us to consider our own spiritual vision and what it means to truly see. Come explores our need for Christ, the mercy He offers, and the life that follows when we encounter Him.

In Psalm 1, we’re invited to take inventory of our spiritual lives and ask a simple but important question: Are we rooted where we think we are?  The blessed life isn’t found in following the shifting wisdom of the world, but in delighting in God’s Word and being rooted in Christ. As we explore the contrast between a life that is grounded and one that is easily swept away, we’ll discover that true wisdom, blessing, stability, and life are found in Jesus.

Whoever told us "sticks and stones may break are bones, but words will never hurt..." may have coined a memorable phrase but it's a wishfully-thought, sugarcoated falsehood. Few things under the sun are more powerful than words - they can destroy or give life - and this makes sense as children of a Creator who spoke light from darkness and whose Word become flesh and dwelt among us. So, are we people whose words build up or tear down? And, if we know the word of life, how should this inform our speech in the church and the world?
