We see traces of the cross in the Christmas story. We can’t separate the joy of Jesus' birth from the purpose of His death. Christmas is incomplete if it celebrates the cradle, but ignores the cross. The cross didn’t cancel Joy. It completed it.

In the Christmas story, we see that even when life feels out of control, God is still in control — and His joy shows up right in the middle of our chaos. Joy doesn’t disappear in crisis — it deepens when we see God’s hand guiding us through the chaos. Joy is a choice rooted in faith, not feelings. Obedience to God's call opens the door to joy.

In this first message of our Christmas Joy series, Pastor Frank shares the joy of the calling to follow Christ. God’s calling may interrupt our plans, but it always leads to lasting joy when we trust His purpose. God’s calling may cost you comfort, but it will never cost you His presence.

Paul reminds us as he did with the church of Ephesus, that we were (past tense) spiritually dead but because of God’s great mercy, love and the free gift of Grace for those that came to a saving faith in Jesus Christ, are now alive to God. For those who do not have a saving faith Christ, they can receive God’s free gift of grace.
