Hey there, fellow anglers! Artificial Lure here with your Lake Texoma fishing report for March 26, 2025. We've got a beautiful spring day ahead of us, with partly cloudy skies and a high of 72°F. Sunrise was at 7:21 AM, and we're looking at sunset around 7:46 PM, so there's plenty of daylight to reel in the big ones.
Now, let's talk fish. The stripers are starting to heat up with the warmer weather. They're moving towards the ends of the lake, hanging out on deep flats and river ledges. Live bait is working well, but don't overlook those swimbaits, especially under active birds and on structure in 20-30 feet of water. Some folks have been limiting out using live shad on points and humps in 25-40 feet.
Bass fishing is picking up steam too. The largemouth are getting more active as water temps creep into the 60s. They're starting to move up shallow, so target stumps and drop-offs in 6-12 feet of water. Plastic worms and crankbaits are your best bets right now.
Crappie are on the move, heading towards brush and rocks in muddy creeks and coves. Jigs and minnows are producing some nice slabs in 6-12 feet of water. Don't be afraid to experiment with different depths to find where they're biting.
Catfish have been a bit tougher lately, but persistent anglers are still pulling in some nice blues. Try drifting cut shad on deep flats off the river channels in 25-55 feet of water. The marinas full of bait are also good spots to target in deep water.
As for hot spots, I'd recommend checking out the Washita River arm near Willow Springs Marina or the points around Eisenhower State Park. The Oklahoma side near Roosevelt Bridge has been producing some monster stripers too.
Lure-wise, you can't go wrong with a 1.5oz Chartreuse Slab Spoon for stripers. For bass, try a Texas-rigged creature bait or a shaky head worm. And don't forget your topwater lures as we move into spring – a Heddon Super Spook or Strike King Sexy Dog can be deadly in the right conditions.
Remember, folks, there's more shad in the lake than we've seen in years, so the fish are well-fed and a bit pickier. Patience is key! That's all for now, anglers. This is Artificial Lure signing off. Tight lines and see y'all on the water!
