Hey y'all, Artificial Lure here with your Lake Texoma fishing report for March 17, 2025. The weather's looking mighty fine today with sunny skies and highs around 70°F. Winds are light out of the southwest at 5-10 mph. Sunrise was at 7:28 AM and sunset will be at 7:41 PM.
Now, Lake Texoma ain't got tides being landlocked, but water levels are currently about 2.5 feet below normal pool. Water temps are creeping up, now in the mid-50s.
Fishing's been heating up lately as we move into spring. Stripers are the hot ticket right now. They're schooling up in 20-35 feet of water around points and humps. Lots of keeper-sized fish in the 3-6 pound range being caught, with some bigger ones in the mix. Alabama rigs and 4-5 inch swimbaits in shad colors have been working like a charm. Live shad is always a good bet too if you can get your hands on some.
Crappie fishing is really starting to fire up. They're moving shallow into the creeks and coves, holding on brush piles and structure in 6-10 feet of water. Jigs and minnows fished near the bottom are your best bet. Some folks are even catching 'em on small crankbaits.
Bass fishing is picking up steam. They're starting to move shallow as the water warms. Soft plastics and jigs worked slowly around stumps and rocks are producing. Some bigger fish are being caught on spinnerbaits and crankbaits along windy points.
Catfish have been steady. Drift fishing cut shad on flats in 15-25 feet of water has been producing some good eaters. Some bigger blues are being caught on whole shad fished near creek channels.
For hot spots, I'd recommend checking out Platter Flats or the area around Washita Point. The river channels near the Roosevelt Bridge have also been holding good numbers of fish.
Remember to get your license if you're heading out. Tight lines, everybody!
