Lake Texoma Fishing Report - Stripers, Crappie, and More - February 2025

Listen Later

Hello there, fellow anglers This is Artificial Lure, and I'm here to give you the latest fishing report for Lake Texoma as of February 10, 2025.

First off, let's talk about the conditions. Lake Texoma is currently at 93.8% full, with the water level sitting at about 1.71 feet below the conservation pool elevation. The water temperature is around 48 degrees, and it's slightly stained, which is typical for this time of year.

For those planning their day, sunrise today is at about 7:00 AM, and sunset will be around 6:00 PM. There's no significant tidal action to worry about on Lake Texoma, as it's a freshwater lake.

Now, let's dive into the fish activity. Striped bass have been the main attraction lately, and they're still going strong. You can find them on structure in 10-25 feet of water, particularly around humps, ledges, and river channels. Alabama rigs and swimbaits are your best bets for catching these stripers. Some anglers have also had success deadsticking and using live shad, especially around the bridges and ledges[1][5].

Crappie fishing is fair, with these fish holding on brush and structure in 18-25 feet of water. On warmer days, they tend to move shallower, so keep an eye out for them in coves and creeks. Jigs with minnows or power bait are good choices for crappie[1].

Bass fishing, particularly for largemouth and spotted bass, is also picking up. Focus on rocks and structures that hold baitfish in warmer water. A slow presentation with lures that cover different depths off drop-offs and ledges in 8-15 feet of water should yield some results[1].

Catfishing is getting better, especially with the recent rains. Look for big blues in shallow water near river inlets, using gizzard shad and cut heads on the bottom in 5-15 feet of water. Channel and flathead catfish are also active around channels, coves, docks, and points on cut bait, dough bait, live shad, and punch bait[1].

For hot spots, I recommend checking out the Eisenhower State Park Bluffs on the Texas side and Denison Dam. On the Oklahoma side, North Island and West Burns Run are known for their excellent striper fishing[5].

In summary, Lake Texoma is offering some great fishing opportunities right now. With the right lures and bait, you can catch a variety of species. Keep an eye on the water levels and temperature, and don't hesitate to try different spots and techniques to find what works best for you.

Happy fishing, and see you on the water
