As we walk through the emotions that surround Christmas, theres a bit one that we need to tackle. The holidays are a milestone that trigger memories, both good and bad. For many of us, the holidays remind us of a person that we've lost or a marriage that dissolved. It reminds us of what don't have as much (or more) as what we do have. As someone who is currently going through a heavy loss in his family, Pastor Ed walked us throught mulitple scriptures that help us frame grief around the holidays.

We are going deeper into the idea of Emotional Intelligence, especially as it relates to the Christmas Season. We are not just talking about listening to those around us, but also being emotionally available as we listen. We often find it easier to share our voting choices than to discuss how we give financially. Many of us have heard confusing teachings about generosity in church, which can make money a tricky topic to address. This  teaching aims to break that barrier. Brian and Melissa  explore some key scriptures about tithing and share personal stories that show how their understanding of generosity has evolved.

Bold faith and bold prayer are two necessary ingredients to see big things happen in our Christian maturity. As we lay out a two year vision for our church to move forward in lots of areas, we know that we need to grow in  prayer. We will believe for miracles, but we also believe that prayer involves God's "yeses" and "no's." So, as a church, when we practice bold prayer together, we need to start to understand the nature of prayer. Prayer aligns us with God's heart. As we talk to God, as we listen to God, as we persist in our requests, as we obey His invitations, our hearts start to align with His. So then, prayer becomes the agent of intimacy between each Christian and our Heavenly Father. Which leads to bold faith and bold prayer.
