The Lake Cumberland Bluegrass Festival returns this Friday. Moochie Hart stops by the WJRS studios to talk more about this year's lineup. 

Today on All Things Russell, Jeff and Tony talk with Russell County Schools Superintendent Michael Ford about the mask mandate for Kentucky schools and what parents should expect. Russell Springs Police Chief Tim Pierce then joins the show to talk about his recent experience with COVID-19. 

Russell Springs First Baptist Church will be hosting its first annual car show this Saturday, August 14th. Everything is slated to get underway around 11:00 am with the cars and there will be food vendors on location. At 1:30 p.m. first responders from across the county will stop by to show off their vehicles for the kids. Christian Naylor, Youth Pastor at Russell Springs First Baptist stops by the studios to talk more about the event. 

The Russell County Rescue Squad has received a grant to purchase equipment for swift water rescue. Squad Commander Rick Godbey stops by to give more details about the grant. 

Shanna Tarter, new Principal of Russell County High School joins the program. Tarter talks about her background leading up to becoming Principal, and her goals for the job the local high school. 

The 12U All Star softball team is two wins away from qualifying for the Little League World Series. Coach Reggie Roy joins the morning show once again to talk about the game and previews tonight's matchup against Indiana. 

The Russell County 12U softball team won its first game on Sunday in the Super Regionals. The team is back in action Monday morning against Nebraska at 9:00 a.m. Coach Reggie Roy calls into the morning show to talk about the win Sunday. 

Tony Kerr talks today with Regina Haugen and the President of Somerset Community College, Dr. Casey Castle discuss how Somerset Community College will utilize the new Lake Cumberland Regional College and Workforce Center and what the college is offering. Next, Superintendent Michal Ford joins the show to discuss the upcoming school year. 

The Russell County 12U softball team won the state championship on Friday night. The team now heads to Super Regionals this Sunday in Indiana. Coaches and members of the team stop by the thank the community for support and promotes a couple of fundraisers this week. 

Barbara Sharpe, with the Russell County Business and Profession Women's Organization stops by to tell folks to come out the annual vendors fair on Saturday from 9-2 at the Russell County ANC.
