This letter was a follow-up from Paul that issued an urgent challenge to set up structures in the churches that would produce gospel fidelity and faithful Christian behavior. Titus teaches us that belief always affects behavior, and local churches must have certain structures in place to remain theologically and practically faithful. Titus’ task was to set things in order so that the gospel of Jesus would be proclaimed, the apostles’ doctrine would be preserved, and fruitful Christians would reflect the kingdom of God to which they belonged.
