The Southern Oregon AVA encompasses Douglas County with the Elkton, Red Hill, and Umpqua Valley AVAs and spreads across Josephine and Jackson Counties within the Rogue Valley and Applegate Valley AVAs.
    The Rogue Valley AVA includes the Applegate Valley AVA and is an adventurer's paradise. Approximately 5,600 acres of vineyards are planted across the region in a number of popular varietals, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Viognier, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Gris.
