Language Facilitation Helpline

Even during social distancing, your immediate family can get out in your yard and facilitate language.

These easy strategies can help you find your child's speech when you implement them every day.

This session I am talking with a mom who has a 4.5-year-old son who is late talking due to a history of chronic ear fluid both with and without infection over a lot of his toddler years.

She joined my program after 6 months of ups and downs trying to get her boy talking with ABA, which only resulted in more aggressive behavior.

Listen in as we discuss her progress and next steps in this coaching session during one of our Waves of Communication Community Meetings.  This meeting was only 2 weeks after beginning the language facilitation plan I gave her to use at home.

Laura is not so secretly excited about this time to have at home with her daughter.  She has a plan to help her daughter elevate her speech so the school won't even recognize her (if they even return...).

Speech is canceled and these strategies will help you find your child's unprompted spoken language faster than therapy!

Jen has been following my language facilitation strategies for 6 months and she has seen REAL improvement when therapy didn't but she remains stuck with only inconsistent gains.

Listen in as Jen tells her story and learn how you can teach your child to talk yourself as I uncover what has been blocking Jen's progress and guide her to move forward.

Marci provides her 5 step process to analyze what is going on in your current environment to block your child's spoken language. Blockages can sneak in when parents do not even realize it - and - some strategies that work for speech therapist actually block the process for parents. Listen in to learn why that happens and what to do to get your child talking.

Autism misdiagnosis happens every day. Listen to this episode to learn how to avoid it in your family.

Rhada has a late-talking son with ASD who has learned to use scripted and basic needs-based language but he is stuck at this level. Listen in as I give her the strategies to help her shift her son's spoken language to the next level where he can verbally share his feelings and tell stories about the things he has done during his day.

Sharon has been struggling with her daughter to move past needs-based speech. Her therapist is pushing her to use pictures and start ABA therapy because her daughter is prompt dependent and will not initiate communication. Sharon has been successful teaching her daughter things that school has not and the school is not believing that her daughter is making progress. Listen while Marci gives her the guidance to help her daughter want to use the words she has memorized.

This podcast is adapted from a challenge I released last summer on Facebook and YouTube. Thousands of parents have participated in this challenge and I receive daily comments about how these strategies help parents get started on their language facilitation journey when everything else has failed.

Best of luck with the challenge! Leave a comment about the strategies you will be swapping in your household.
