"Words form the thread on which we string our experiences." -Aldous Huxley
The words you speak hold power. Power to create and destroy. Power to build relationships or tear them down. Power to lift people up or pull them down. Power to lift your spirit or magnify your fear. Psychologist have found that the subconscious mind interprets what it hears very literally . The words that come out of our mouth therefore create the reality we perceive- for better or for worse! Unfortunately we have not been taught of the power our words have. We unconsciously sabotage our success simply by using language that undermines our successes and amplifies our problems. This diminishes our ability to handle sticky points in life. Our external environment is often a reflection of our internal world, which shows up in how we speak. If you use positive language/vocab- about yourself, your ability to learn new skills, to achieve goals, and manage difficulties- then that's what tends to show up externally. Conversely, if you're continually saying things that affirm incompetence, echo hopelessness, nurture anxiety and fuel pessimism , then that will also shape your reality. Over time your world will morph to mirror your words. Take back control of reality by deliberately using empowering words rather than devaluing and deflating yourself. It all starts with conscious awareness of our language patterns.
