My 6 year old daughter LOVES this series. She can't put the books down. We go through a book every couple of days. And when I read them out loud, even my 4 year old son is there quietly listening. He too wants to know who Katie is going to change in to next.
Excellent reading for my 3rd grader!
We love the Katie Kazoo series. My daughter who is a little bit of a tom girl, does get into the foofoo type stories. These were perfect and kept her attention. As we struggled through reading the last couple of years it was great to find a series that she finally took to and couldn't wait for me to give her another one.
    Book
this was a good Book I really enjoyed it . I will try and download some more. I haven't read all you're books yet
    Most awesome book !!!
I have read so many of the Katie Kazoo books and this is the best so far. Those of you who have read other Katie Kazoo books know about the magic wind. This time she got turned into her teacher Mrs.Derkman. Nobody liked Mrs.Derkman because thay thought she was strict. Thay gave her a nickname too. It was Mes.Jerkman. It was the day of the Teacher of the year contest and instead of it being Mrs.Derkman it was Katie. Mrs.Derkman did not win but she got a trophie that says "This award is presented to Mrs.Barbara Derkman for her creative lesson on consideration and caring for one anothers feelings".
I would recommend this book to all kids who like Katie Kazoo books

NIce Graphic Biography of Eleanor Roosevelt
This is a very nice graphic biography of Eleanor Roosevelt for children. Surprisingly thorough for a such a small book, good for developing an understanding of the person.

I bought this to use in my 6th grade reading classroom. It is excellent to use to teach reading skills such as main idea, author's purpose, or summarizing. I put it in a center and students have 10 minutes to use the book for an assignment. Since it is at a lower reading level, students have success in building skills to use in higher level texts.
This book is a good addition to the grade 1-6 classroom library.

great way to learn about E. Cady Stanton
Great for my 4th grader. It is a picture book, which makes it easy to read and not boring.

    Great!
Nice way to introduce young readers to this very important historical figure
Effective and entertaining primer for young readers to be introduced to the basics of the life of abolitionist and suffragette Elizabeth Cady Stanton. The text features direct quotes from Stanton (highlighted in yellow when used) and bright, colorful illustrations sure to catch the reader's eye. I also liked that this graphic novel features the whole of Stanton's life, from early childhood interest in activism to her continued work in her elderly years.

    Publisher's Summary:
Does racing around a track at speeds up to 230 miles per hour sound interesting to you? How about doing it in front of 350,000 screaming fans? If you think that would be a good way to pass the time, then Indy racing is for you. Indy cars are some of the sleekest, fastest, most advanced racing machines in the world. But it hasn't always been that way. When Ray Harroun won the first Indianapolis 500 in 1911, his average speed was 74.6 miles per hour. Over the years, the cars became lighter, faster, and safer. Legendary drivers emerged, like Mario Andretti, A.J. Foyt, and Al Unser. Women also got behind Indy car wheels, including 2005 Rookie of the Year Danica Patrick. Today, the sport is as popular as ever.

    Get it right
I don't have this book, I only looked at the preview. In the preview pages that Amazon provided for this book, the author mis identified two pictures that I saw. The first was the picture of Rick Mears Pennzoil Z-7 that the author says is from 1985, this is wrong, that photo is in fact from 1983. Also, the picture of Al Unser Jr's car was identified as being from 1991 wrong, the car in the photo is a Galmer chassis car which Rick Galles company designed & used in 1992, Al Jr's first Indy win. I don't think I need to read anymore of this book, I think in books like these which I call a racing reference style book, it's extremely important to get car types & years correct seeing as how IndyCars back then used different chassis year in & year out. If the author could not take the time to ensure this information is correct, then what is the point of writing the book...

    Fun reading for kids!
Terrific for children - put on your best British accent and read them to sleep each night! My seven year old daughter adores the Secret Seven!!
    THE âSECRET SEVENâ SERIES
    THE âSECRET SEVENâ SERIES
THEY ARE THE BEST FOR A FIRST READ!
Enidâs early works include the âSecret Seven Societyâ books featuring Peter (the society's leader), Janet (Peter's sister), Jack, Barbara, George, Pam and Colin. They were the catalyst which encouraged me to start reading more than 50 years ago. Thank you, Enid.
The BBC, many public libraries, local authorities and alleged educational experts have been completely wrong about the worth of the Blyton works. I can remember having substantial difficulty obtaining the original versions of the books. Quite a few shops would not stock them then but they were wonderful stories for teenagers! The tales are great to read for their simplicity and straightforwardness.
When one did find copies of the book they were quite expensive all those years ago but great to own. I loved the physical appearance of the books as well which I treasured as a youngster with the way in which the books were produced then making them somehow much easier to read.
Itâs a delight to read these stories of adventure again in middle age although recent editing has diminished some of the memories I have of the original editions and words used then (but I am now getting old).
Never mindâ these books remain one of my best friends for life: they began my own reading adventure so do read these special adventures of the Secret Seven Society for yourselves.

    Avoid the Audio
My rating is based on the audio that is a computer-generated recording that is droll and laborious to listen to.
    Macbeth
Graphic novels serve the purpose of whetting the young reader's appetite to get to the original. Helps explain the text and fires the imagination. Rec for HS students having to read a tough play for the first time.

    Loved it !
Totally brilliant. This is a very short but pacey book. Owning a beautiful black cat myself, I simply adored this wonderful book, which sets out to capture the essence of the cat. Mostly based on actual cat behaviour and cat loves and hates, with the minimum of fictious material, the story of the cat is told through very short burst of poems, moving all too quickly to the next scenario. The narrator is perfect. I just wished it could have been longer, but great value for money and enjoyed it immensely.

    Enthralling and funny children's book
The whole family enjoyed listening to this one, and my husband drove extra slowly on weekend car journeys as he too was hooked. Good for adults and children of any age (ours are 5 & 9 and both loved it). Brilliantly written with great characters. Very funny but also suspenseful. Adults will guess how the book will end, but it will keep your children hooked til the end. Having read the book already, I preferred the abridged version of the audio book as I felt that the narrator's voice was more engaging than the unabridged version. The abridged version is extremely well read, with the narrator doing different voices for each character to facilitate following the story line. Highly recommended for girls and boys and grown ups.
