Sometimes it’s hard to remember that many of the words and concepts we understand as Christians aren’t in the vocabulary of the non-initiated. Today, Pastor Ron shares the example of the Apostle Paul. Wherever he traveled, Paul noticed and understood the people he was speaking with. He found commonality with his listeners and shared Jesus in a way they could understand. If you are attentive, God can help you do the same. You can establish common ground, and be effective in your sharing of your faith.   

It’s easy to feel trapped by life’s circumstances. We might ask: “Why did God allow this to happen to me?” But as Pastor Ron shares today, it’s all a matter of perspective. You can look at things from your human vantage point, or you can look at things from God’s vantage point. It makes all the difference. God is sovereign… over everything, including everything that happens to you. And when you lean into that, in faith and trust in God’s goodness, and His love for you, He will carry you through it all.

We all live with traditions. We have traditions for Christmas, traditions for The Fourth of July, and traditions for St. Patrick’s Day. And traditions aren’t necessarily bad. They give us familiarity and continuity in what we do. But, as Pastor Ron shares today, when a tradition becomes equal to, or more important than, the Word of God, that’s a real problem! The apostle Paul ran into that problem, and perhaps you’ve run into it too! But with careful and prayerful study, you can differentiate what’s real from what’s not.

In fact, Christians are called to suffer for the Lord. To detect a phony dollar bill, we need to know what the real one looks like. To detect phony teaching, we need to know what The Bible says.
