Fortnite Chapter 2 ended today, with an explosive live finale! We discuss the season- and chapter-ending event, the glimpses we've gotten of the new chapter, and our favorite memories of Chapter 2.
We discuss our reactions to Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (spoilers: The first is still a really good game, but some of us didn't enjoy it as much as we thought we would! The second is also a really good game, but it has a significant drawback!), with thoughts on the best way to play the Captain Toad levels, why Bowser Jr. doesn't work as a second player, and which Wii U games have been elevated by Switch ports.
We all took a Gamer Motivation Profile quiz to find out our gamer types, and it was really interesting! In this episode, Kieron takes the quiz live, and then we all discuss our results, the strengths and weaknesses of the quiz, and what we learned about ourselves. You can take the quiz yourself at Quantic Foundry!
Aiden mentions getting into Super Mario Odyssey speedrunning; here's his pick for the place to start with that on YouTube. Super Mario Odyssey Speedrunning Tutorials
This episode is all about Fortnite! It's one of the most popular games in the world, and as we talk about, it's surprisingly great for families, for people living in pandemics, and for families living in pandemics. We explain how quarantine prompted Robbie and Luke (the parents) to let Aiden and Kieron (the kids) play the game and how all four of us got hooked on it. And we give our thoughts on the last couple of seasons, along with the new season: Primal.

A new Nintendo Direct dropped today! So we held an emergency club meeting discussing the new games from the Direct that we're most excited about, including Miitopia, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, Fall Guys, and more!
Super Mario 3D World is releasing on the Switch this week! We're excited about that -- not only is it one of our all-time favorites, it's pretty important to our family gaming history. So after introducing ourselves, we talk about that history and our background in video games, before moving on to discuss our fond memories of 3D World.
