# Artificial Lure's LA Fishing Report - November 20th, 2025
Hey folks, Artificial Lure here with your Thursday morning fishing report for the Los Angeles area.
**Tides and Conditions**
We're looking at low tide hitting around 1:53 AM this morning at White Point, with a high tide coming through around 8:12 AM at Long Beach Inner Harbor. The solunar activity today is sitting at 75, which is high—that means fish activity is definitely elevated. Seas are running 11 to 13 feet with north winds gusting to 25 knots, so this is a day for experienced anglers or those staying in closer to shore.
**Recent Catches**
Yesterday's action on November 19th was solid across Southern California. The party boats were hammering rockfish—over a thousand of them landed across multiple landings. We're talking 1,143 rockfish alone, plus 331 sculpin. Long Beach Sportfishing brought in 190 rockfish on a three-quarter day trip. Up in Morro Bay, the Avenger landed 93 rockfish along with 20 lingcod on their morning run.
If you look back to October, the bluefin tuna bite was absolutely fire. Twenty-two Street Landing crews were landing limits of bluefin consistently, with one crew bringing in 128 bluefin on a two-day epic. We're also seeing solid calico bass, sheephead, and whitefish action.
**What's Biting and Best Bait**
Right now, rockfish are your bread and butter. They're hitting live mackerel and squid hard. For bluefin, when they're around, live sardines and anchovies are your go-to. The sheephead and calico bass are crushing cut mackerel and squid as well. If you're targeting yellowtail, live bonito and squid strips are money.
**Lures Worth Throwing**
Go with small metal jigs in chrome or white—they're deadly on rockfish in this kind of surge. Soft plastics like shads in natural colors work great too. For calico bass, topwater plugs early in the day can produce explosive strikes.
**Hot Spots**
Twenty-two Street Landing in San Pedro is running solid trips and their fleet knows these waters inside and out. Marina Del Rey Sportfishing is also putting anglers on fish with consistent rockfish action.
