Wendy Bird, founder of Pearls with Purpose, is known as a Social Impactor, Certified High Performance Coach, International Keynote Speaker and Humanitarian. But her most important role is mother of 5 amazing kids, and grandmother to 6 spectacular grandchildren who fill her heart with love and her days with joy, laughter, and last-minute adventures! In 2002 Wendy founded the Pearls with Purpose Foundation, a grass-roots organization which blends micro-enterprise training with humanitarian assistance. Through this nonprofit, she has inspired and motivated people all over the world with her hand-up vs. hand-out approach to long term self-reliance. She partners with like-minded organizations (Operation Underground Railroad, Mentors International, Rising Star Outreach, Believe International and etc) to create dignity for women recovering from sex-trafficking or abusive/disadvantaged situations. She has an adventurous spirit and for years her motto has been “Life begins where your comfort zone ends.” She has accomplished several bucket list items such as (but definitely not limited to): learning to ski at age 40; riding LOTOJA; skydiving over Wallongong Beach in Australia; Hiking Havasupai Falls (Arizona), The Narrows; Angels Landing (Zions) Machu Pichu, (Peru) and Tigers Nest, (Bhutan). She loves planking all over the world despite 50 surgeries! She has also designed and published a 'mindfulness' planner called Planning With Purpose. (Available in hard-cover or digital download). Her upcoming book titled, #PurposeDriven- offers an inspiring and motivational look into her personal life and the lives in developing countries she has been blessed to interact and train with. Addressing the needs of individuals seeking a more purposeful life, The Purple Dress is the first in a series of long-awaited children’s stories and is beautifully illustrated by artisans in the Philippines. She is the Artistic Director of VidaDance Company, a non-profit arts organization. She is an Adjunct Professor at Johnson County Community College’s Continuing Education department as well as s a professional dancer and choreographer, and still regularly performs with her company in ballet, modern, jazz, tap, ballroom, and world dance pieces. Under her direction, VidaDance Company has won Best of Festival in 2018 & 2019 and Best of Venue in 2016, 2018, and 2019 at the Kansas City Fringe Festival after launching at the festival only seven years ago. She is the Ballet Expert for Livestrong.com, and filmed a 10-video series on Dance & Conditioning. She produces online dance, fitness, and wellness courses, and currently has over 5,000 students enrolled. Reginald Ryder is a 1st generation college student.  By applying the skill he had learned with the help of his parents and administrators he became a productive student. 

As an administrator, he noticed students like himself, had great ability but were not always successful. Sadly, many students were slipping through the cracks. 

In one-on-one conversations, he was able to understand each students’ situation and "coach" them from chaos to completion. These students established better habits and successfully graduated. Word of mouth spread and soon students began to seek him out. 

 

TLC's principles and skills are what Reginald used as an undergraduate and graduate student. TLC reshapes everyday students with the experience of school. TLC provides the proper balance of challenge and support. TLC coaches students to learn from their successes and failures by developing good habits.

Most recently Reginald published his book Passing the Baton

The title speaks to planting a seed and creating a legacy that has a multiplier effect on students.

Former NFL player Marques Ogden shares his story of failing and following forward. In 2003, Marques was drafted into the NFL as an offensive lineman, after 5 years of playing in the league, he decided to retire and pursue a career in construction and contracting. At the age of 27, Marques founded a construction company called Kayden Premier Enterprises. The company had fast growth and in 2010, but eventually, his business went bankrupt, losing almost 2 million dollars on one project in a matter of 90 days. Leslie is the founder of multiple businesses that uplift human experiences and encourage positive change through art. Chaos to Growth was inspired by artwork she created during the COVID 19 Pandemic. She creates artwork under the rock climbing indie brand, Dynamite Starfish and via the Chaos to Growth project. She is currently working on public arts projects in Los Angeles, California, and hosting her podcast, Same Human Being. She hopes that her artwork and her stories inspire others to live and love at their very best. “I took a very circuitous path to get to where I'm at today: I'm happy, healthy, and have a career that I'm proud of and have taken ownership of. But that wasn't always the case. I was also a college dropout, in an abusive relationship, socially awkward, and deeply depressed. There were so many things in my life that I didn't understand, let alone have any control over.
