  • 2022-23 Pacific Division Preview
Alex and Chace are back for Week Two of their preview series. Last week, they took a look at what the Central Division had in store. However, this week they shift their focus to the 2022 Pacific division. Like always, Alex and Chace go through each team and give their thoughts on the upcoming season.
They begin with teams they view will be at the bottom of the division, usually the rebuilding teams. Today, the guys actually disagree on the placement of a few teams in the middle of this division, leading to some interesting debate. They even have a different top four, although the division leader they do agree on. Team by team, they go through and describe what a successful season will look like for each franchise. Overall, they predict where each team will finish and why. The common outcome is that the Pacific may be more interesting than last week's Central Division. With a few solid-looking teams and overall better depth throughout.

  • Video Games 2 the MAX: Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Revealed, Bonnie Ross Leaves 343i # 323
Originally Recorded in the early hours of Wednesday 09/14/22. It is out late this week due to Sean having to go to his Grandfather's Viewing and Funeral within two consecutive days.
Well, to put it mildly, this week was announcement mania. No less than four showcases have taken place since the last time we recorded an episode. So obviously there is a lot to discuss and go through.
Sean, Marc, and Daniel discuss their favorite announcements and things they are looking forward to from each one. We got God of War: Ragnarok, Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, a new Captain America & Black Panther game, and teases for several Assassin's Creed titles. What more could have happened? Trust me, there was quite a bit more.
Plus, although Square-Enix had a ton of positives from two of these events, they also announced the shutdown of Babylon's Fall is coming soon, Xbox is getting Discord support and a new dashboard, and also Bonnie Ross leaving 343 Industries too.

  • Tim Stutzle, Erik Brannstrom Contracts, Defence Talk, and More with Steve on Sens
Alex is back with another episode of the Last Word on Sens podcast. With a relatively quiet August, he took most of the month off. However, there has been some massive news lately and the podcast is back! Making his return to the podcast to assist Alex is Steve on Sens. Today, the two start by looking at the Tim Stutzle contract and why it is crucial to the Sens rebuild. Both Alex and Steve give their takes on why they like the deal, along with any potential risk it may include.
From there, they also look at the Erik Brannstrom deal and explain why this may actually seal his time as an Ottawa Senator. What do they want to see from Brannstrom and his usage this year? Is there anything that can save his time in Ottawa? Finally, they ask the question of is this defence core good enough as is. The two dive into that topic, looking at how this core could be used this season.

  • Video Games 2 the MAX: Sony and Microsoft’s Inadequate COD Deal, Horror Game Franchises Returning # 322
This was originally recorded in the early morning of 09/08/22. Sean had a death in the family shortly before recording, which delayed the release of this episode.
As the gaming world gears up for some big announcements within the next few weeks, the acquisitions and stock purchases of companies continue, as Tencent and Sony make payments to up their stake in Elden Ring developer From Software, while Tencent even does the same with Ubisoft making the rumors from a few weeks ago come true. Not to mention, Net Ease ups their stake into a full-on acquisition as they have made it their intention to purchase Quantic Dream.
The battle still rages on between Sony and Microsoft in the fight with the review boards, as Sony gets a small victory in forcing an in-depth review of the Activision-Blizzard-King acquisition in the UK. While also fanning the flames of social media with Jim Ryan’s statement that “Microsoft’s offer is inadequate.” Is it really a bad deal? Would this actually weaken Sony’s place in the gaming industry? And should that really be a region’s place to decide anyway? Shouldn’t Microsoft’s intent to want to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation play a role in this as well?
If you haven’t noticed, there sure have been a lot of Horror games in the works lately, the System Shock devs say this in-large part due to the success of Resident Evil 2 Remake. Sean and Marc discuss the revival of Horror games and what are some franchises that are dormant they’d like to see make a comeback.
Plus, should we believe the rumors about the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Wind Waker remasters being announced for Switch at the next Nintendo Direct? What the canceling of Split-Screen Co-op says about the state of Halo Infinite, final thoughts on Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Soul Hackers 2, and more.

  • 2022 Central Division Preview
Alex and Chace are back and this week, they start their NHL season previews! After wrapping up the Top 20 lists last week, they switch their view to the current season. Today, they preview the 2022 Central Division! However, they start by looking at some massive signings that have occurred over the past week or so. Including a team that Alex's favourite team has made.
After that, they go team-by-team through the Central division. They look at the roster for each team and also look at what would make this a successful season. Asking should this team be looking at playoffs. Or are they a team that should be looking to retool or even rebuild? Finally, they discuss how lopsided of a division this will be and why this might be one of the more boring divisions this season. With a clear favourite, it seems likely the battle for this division will start at spot number two.

  • Top 20 NHL Goalies
Alex and Chace are back with the final week of their Top 20 lists. Today, they examine the best NHL goalies. Maybe the toughest list yet, Alex and Chace go through each goalie on their list and why they have them ranked where they do. Overall, the top of these lists were some of the easier ones. There are 6-7 names everyone would have near the top that you can consider legit starters.
From there, you start to get into more guys who play closer to 40 games instead. Tandem-like goalies that just weren't around even 10 years ago now may be a Top 20 guy in the league. This makes for quite the experiment to balance age, sample size, and results altogether. Listen to Alex and Chace explain their thought process, along with what they used to try and determine it. As well, they compare the lists this year to where they had players ranked last year to explain their thought processes.

  • Video Games 2 the MAX: Global PlayStation 5 Price Hike, Xbox & Sony Focusing on PC & Mobile # 321
It's another week in video games and one that created controversy with Sony deciding that the PlayStation 5 should see a price hike in basically all major regions except the United States.Sean, Marc, and Daniel give their views on the decision if it's really needed, and what it says about Sony, especially in the face of Microsoft and Nintendo both stating they would not raise the price of their consoles.Sony also made another purchase, this time in the form of a Mobile game studio, Savage Games, furthering their previously stated intent to go into mobile gaming. Is this a good idea for Sony? Phil Spencer also stated that their still pending acquisition of Activision-Blizzard-King is due to a greater push towards mobile and PC. Should primarily console gamers be worried about this? Or is this just the way of the times? Also in this episode, the guys discuss if there could be a gaming world with no Third-Party exclusives, the first two episodes of She-Hulk, the latest with Assassin's Creed Mirage, could Bandai Namco lock down From Software? The new Mafia game, and much more. You can also watch this episode on video through our Youtube channel, W2M Network.
