Sometimes you go through life just dealing with existence … the good days and the bad days, and then you meet someone beautiful who changes your life forever and nothing will ever be the same again.

Eight years ago today I sat with my mother who was lying in a intubated coma in the ICU unit of the hospital. I held her hand as she took her last breath and then cradled her body until it felt okay to say my last goodbye. This poem is dedicated to my mother who is never forgotten and is missed so very much.
