In the end … love is what gives meaning to most things in life. This poem was inspired by a quote from Zelda Fitzgerald… “ Nobody has ever measured, not even poets, how much the heart can hold.”

… a true statement if there ever was one … enjoy.

The life of Audrey Munson was the inspiration for this poem. How she rose to celebrity status from humble beginnings as an artist model to movie star to the tragic ending of her life where she spent sixty-four years of her life in an asylum for the criminally insane.

As a poet and romantic I am always inspired to write about love … and experiencing true love is the one thing I believe we all seek on our journey through life, though it doesn’t always come to us as true love is the rarest of all love. It is something you feel at the very core of your spiritual being and has inspired me to write this poem. Enjoy.

One poem in this evening’s episode, entitled “Anemoia” … which is the feeling of nostalgia for a time or a place that you’ve never known, or been to, but long for. It’s a connection to a past era that is usually triggered by old photographs, music stories, or film footage.

I was happy to find out there was a name for this because I have had an incredible longing for the past throughout my entire life. I love looking at old photographs or film- footage or listening to old music from distant eras. I even enjoy going into antique stores and looking at postcards or objects and wondering what the lives were like of people that are no longer here, but have left some remnants behind to document their existence. I hope you enjoy tonight‘s poem.

Sleep is such a nightly thing to do. Recently I was told by someone very astutely, in a state of drifting off to sleep, that their eyelids were doing nose dives. An odd statement perhaps, but in the right context of conversation fit perfectly. Thanks once again for the inspiration to create. Enjoy…
