change, she attended a Career Fair that ignited her passion and purpose for helping others, and thus led her to discover and pursue a new career path in Human Resources. Janelle had left a $60k corporate job to do what she loved, which was helping others find their path for a $20k salary cut. It was the hardest but best decision she had ever made and the most

Dr. Eric L. Holmes is a senior coordinator in the Otolaryngology department at Johns Hopkins Hospital in

Baltimore, Maryland. His fervor to excel and push his abilities has led him to earn and impressive

number of awards at Johns Hopkins: the Edward Halle Award, the Martin Luther King Award, the

Radiology Customer Service Award for two years, and the Employee of the Year. With a passion and

dedication to further his education and help others through his teachings, Dr. Holmes has earned a

bachelor’s and master’s degree in biblical studies and theology, and master’s and doctorate in Christian

education at North Carolina College of Theology. Also has been featured in the Enoch Pratt Library

Compass in the Writers Live and in edition his book is now available in the Enoch Pratt Libraries, the

Baltimore County Libraries and Dauphin County Libraries in Pa.

As the first in her immediate family to attend college, L. Renee Whaley is a 1998 graduate of the University of South Carolina and later received her MBA in 2009 from Argosy University. As a Financial Coach and a Ramsey Solutions Financial Master Coach, Whaley specializes in sharing the message that budgeting and debt management are the keys to a life of financial freedom. Financial management has long been a passion of Whaley’s. As she worked her way through college at the University of South Carolina, Renee never had a student loan! Whaley’s mother taught her three children that frivolous spending was not the way; and more importantly, God was a provider. She instilled in her children that they should “owe no man” as stated in the Bible. Whaley further emphasizes to her clients Proverbs 13:22, which states in part, “a good man leaves an inheritance to your children’s children.” Whaley found herself in $75k worth of debt, but in 3 years, paid off every penny of it! Shortly thereafter, Whaley did the unthinkable and paid off her mortgage at the age of 44!

planted a desire to take the journey

and telling full fledge stories by five,

she has been preparing for this journey

all her life. With her M.A. in English and

M.S. in Editing and Publishing, she has

taught at Valdosta State University for

15 years in English and African

American Studies. She and her

preacher husband, Rozell, have been

married since 1992 with three adult

kids, Jay, Jada, and Justice, one

precious granddaughter, Reighna-Rose

and one 'human' dachshund, Peanut.
