Have you ever run in a race? Think back to when you were young, racing to the finish line to beat your siblings or classmates. Racing when you are young is simple. You don’t have to train or stretch or loosen up. You don’t run with the fear of falling or pulling a muscle. You just hear GO and you are off and moving. Full force. No holding back. Running as fast as you can to win. Our pace is set by the other racers, pushing us to go faster. If we win, great. But if we lose we are left feeling like our pace was not enough.
Life can be a lot like this, trying to push ourselves to move at a faster pace because of other racers.
