Columbus Day was first celebrated in the U.S. in 1882, Día de La Raza was first celebrated in Mexico in 1917, and Indigenous People's Day was first celebrated in California U.S in 1992 ( 500 years after Columbus first voyage ). This episode we are going to discuss the history and overlapping and evolving meaning of these meanings as it pertains to Italian Americans, Hispanic Americans, Latinidad, and Indigenous People.
