Her first book There Was a Woman: La Llorona from Folklore to Popular Culture examines one of the most famous figures in US/Mexican folklore, plotting her movement from post-conquest oral narratives into contemporary cultural productions. Her recent book Fatherhood in the Borderlands: A Daughter’s Slow Approach (2022).
