Maria Salamanca is an Associate at Unshackled Ventures, a Venture Fund for Immigrant Entrepreneurs. Maria migrated with her family from Colombia at age seven and went on to UC Berkeley where she started her passion for tech and activism. At Unshackled Ventures she is committed to help immigrant startup founders launch their companies at early stages assuming risks that other funds are not willing to take.

Hugo and Kim Gamez "la guera" are the husband and wife founders of Mi Padrino, an online marketplace for Quinceanera planning startup. Kim, a mother and wife decided to solve a real problem in the Mexican community and took her idea to Spark Accelerator in Ann Arbor, MI. From then it was a matter of learning and building a business with determination. Kim participated in SharkTank and ultimately was able to get funding for Mi Padrino.

Mara Zepeda is the co-founder of Switchboard, a startup that provides training and technology to colleges, universities, and independent schools to increase community mobility. Mara is an active member of the startup ecosystem and has also found XXCelerate, a loan fund for women entrepreneurs to address the inequity in access to financing and also a co-founder of Zebra movement, a community that aims to create a more ethical and inclusive startup culture.
