It's well known how Puerto Rico has been an American colony since their invasion of the island in 1898. After many injustices, discrimination and unfair legislation, the Isla del Encanto has managed to survive and preserve its culture and for the most part its natural resources. But with modernization comes new challenges for the boricuas living in the island, after Hurricane Maria in 2017 many fled the devastated paradise and a new wave of citizens have move in droves to give Puerto Ricans one last push out of their land.
