This week Marcella Rodriguez interviews Mary Dueñas, a doctoral candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Mary talks about growing up in Southern California and how her mother shaped her ability to advocate for herself very early on. She talks about her time at UC Irvine and the role that strong role models and her community played in her life, particularly, Latina women in higher education. Mary discusses the challenges and barriers she faced as a student and shares her work in serving others.
