So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak. When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip so that his hip was out of place as he wrestled with the man. Genesis 32:24-25
Then the man said, “Let me go, for it is daybreak.” But Jacob replied, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.” The man asked him, “What is your name?” “Jacob,” he answered.
Genesis 32:26-27
Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.” Genesis 32:28
Jacob said, “Please tell me your name.” But he replied, “Why do you ask my name?” Then he blessed him there. Genesis 32:29

Isaac prayed to the Lord on behalf of his wife, because she was childless. The Lord answered his prayer, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant. Genesis 25:21
When the time came for her to give birth, there were twin boys in her womb. The first to come out was red, and his whole body was like a hairy garment; so they named him Esau. Genesis 25:24-25
After this, his brother came out, with his hand grasping (clutching) Esau’s heel; so he was named Jacob. Genesis 25:26
Don't forget where you came from.
The same grace that God extended to you is the same grace and compassion that God expects you to extend to others.

Jacob was UNPLUGGED.

One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.

Who or what do you need to dismiss out of your life so that you can plug in with God?

• Pick the right fight.
What are you wrestling with today?
Wrestling with God is the wrong fight.
Wrestling with your spouse or your significant other is the wrong fight.
Wrestling with your child or your co-worker is the wrong fight.
Wrestling with the adversary THROUGH God's power is the right fight.
Finally, be strong IN THE LORD and in HIS MIGHTY POWER. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. Ephesians 6:10-11
FOR OUR STRUGGLE IS NOT AGAINST FLESH AND BLOOD, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12
For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a BROKEN spirit, A BROKEN and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise. Psalms 51:16-17
It's not until you BREAK a hundred dollar bill that you get CHANGE back.

Dont be so busy crying over the brook that has dried up, that you miss the ocean that God currently has flowing for you!

• God sees more inside of you than you see inside of yourself.
The man asked him, “What is your name?” “Jacob,” he answered.

Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel (God's chosen people), because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.” Genesis 32:28
• The struggle is over.
Your past doesn't have the power to keep you unless you want to be kept.
Jacob said, “Please tell me your name.” But he replied, “Why do you ask my name?” Then he blessed him there. Genesis 32:29
• It was nobody BUT GOD.
And God appeared unto Jacob AGAIN, when he came out of Padanaram, and blessed him. -Genesis 35:9
And God said unto him, your name is Jacob: your name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be your name: and he called his name Israel. Genesis 35:10
And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem. Genesis 35:19
And Jacob set a pillar upon her grave: that is the pillar of Rachel's grave unto this day. Genesis 35:20
AND ISRAEL journeyed, and spread his tent beyond the tower of Edar... -Genesis 35:21
