When you think of your favorite foods, are you a sweet person...or do you crave salty treats! Whichever you chose, this episode is bringing you both!
In this episode, I have the opportunity to speak with the wonderful Fatmah Muhammad Williams who is changing the world with her dough. This is not a euphemism for money but ACTUAL DOUGH! Fatmah has mastered the award winning dessert knafeh. Per her website, Knafeh Queens, they layer buttery knafeh dough with mouthwatering sweet and salty cheese filling that is drenched in syrup for a decadent dessert that's fit for royalty!
But this conversation is not all delicious. We will be discussing our experiences with overt racism and what it was like to be a Muslim in the United States immediately after the tragic September 11th events and how Fatmah's kids asked her if they were going to be "kicked out of America" after Trump took office.
