Welcome to the place where we get to let our geek flags fly and talk about all things geek. Basically a fuzzy guide to life, the universe, and everything but mostly geek stuff. This level of the podcast is a wayback brought to you by grief and the realization that this level wasn’t available on the spotify collection of the podcast. Words don’t do it for this experience of losing a kiddo. Grief unfortunately isn’t a team sport but I take great comfort in having these episodes both for myself and to share. Let’s activate the wayback and head to September 17, 2017 back when life was happier and the podcast was much much younger.
Hey howdy hey friends. Wookiee back with another guest joining me for an episode about life, the universe, and everything but mostly geek stuff. I’m so stoked my oldest kiddo joined me to talk all about the 2017 movie IT. We went to see it and had to get some of our thoughts out to the interweb. Most of the podcast is all about the movie in a general overview sort of way. We tried hard to avoid spoilers but just in case, here’s your warning there might be something given away if you haven’t seen IT. Overall, we stayed on task with only a little digression about other things like politics. Hard to avoid that when you’re talking with a politically woke human being like my oldest little wookiee.
If you ever wondered what I look like watching scary movies… this is your show. This is an honest review of the newest Stephen King adaptation plus some digression into the novel, the miniseries from the 80s, coulrophobia, a-holes in Pennsylvania, other creepy clown movies (Stitches/Dead Clowns/Killer Clowns From Outer Space), actors the Losers would like to play their adult selves, Happy Death Day, an RIP for Tobe Hooper, Poltergeist, circuses, hybrid animals, American Horror Story Cult, and Stephen King tweets. So much fun having a conversation with one of my offspring and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did recording it.
Congrats on completing another wayback level of the podcast! Despite the sadness, I’m so happy I have a conversation like this saved. Think positive, test negative, stay safe, wash your hands, wear a mask, and good luck out there. Feel free to contact me on Twitter and/or Instagram (@wookieeriot). This past week has been a lot as the familia and I deal with the loss of my oldest. Let’s activate the wayback and head to March 18, 2017 back when life was happier and the podcast was much much younger.
So it seems the magic formula for getting an episode posted on time is doing semi-regular guest episodes. I'm really excited that this time I got the chance to record with my oldest kiddo all about horror movies. Welcome to Episode 32 of the podcast! This installment of geek talk is all about the horror genre that lots of folks geek out about. I can't think of a person close to me who is as in to the genre as my oldest fuzzy offspring so why not record an episode? There's all sorts of discussion about a ton of different movies... some short, some long. Here's some of what is mentioned in this installment:
Shaun of the Dead
Universal Monsters
Monster Squad
Green Inferno & Cannibal Holocaust
Saw Movies
Dead Alive
Zombies: Walking Dead, Zombieland, Day of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead, and more
Horror TV: Supernatural and thoughts on American Horror Story
The Grudge & The Ring
Lights Out
Don’t Breathe
Killer Clowns From Outer Space & IT
Horns
Jaws
Gremlins
Lake Placcid
Nightmare of Elm Street
Halloween
Horror directors who are heading to do or already did Superhero movies
Horror Sequels
Candyman
Martyrs
Inside
It Follows
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
The Hills Have Eyes
Old Horror Movies: Them!, The Blob, Children of the Damned, Children of the Corn
The Shining
Exorcist
Poltergeist
The Babadook
The Sixth Sense
Blair Witch Project
Scream
Psycho
The Birds
Silence of the Lambs
Sinister
The Conjuring
Cabin in the Woods
Evil Dead
Ash vs. Evil Dead
Would You Rather
Sci-Fi Horror: Predator, Alien, Life, Event Horizon
American Werewolf in London
Carrie
Dusk Til Dawn
Deathproof & Planet Terror
Oculus
Get Out
The Belko Experiment
Battle Royale
To sum it all up. My kiddo loved horror movies and from talking over an hour with my lil boogs, it seems I do too. Congrats on completing a wayback level of the podcast! Welcome to the place where we get to let our geek flags fly and talk about all things geek. Basically a fuzzy guide to life, the universe, and everything but mostly geek stuff. Welcome to another edition of the Fuzzballs defending “bad” geeky movies. This time we tackled another movie we love that others claim is not. Blue and I chose Solo: A Star Wars Movie for this defense. Fair warning… we spoil the heck out of this flick that some think is the most unnecessary and not good Star Wars movie. You may find some films to be less than good but we’re always prepared to shine our bright lanterny light all over them while talking the good, the bad, and the ugly. Enjoy!

Welcome to the place where we get to let our geek flags fly and talk about all things geek. Basically a fuzzy guide to life, the universe, and everything but mostly geek stuff. This level of the podcast has so much treasure as The Marshall, Blue, and me talk all about the newest space pirate show of Star Wars goodness. Even better, if you wondered how a show with 10-year-olds appeals to kids the same age, my own youngling joins to do just that. A great convo and totally worth it if only to hear the cuteness.
