Reflections on Daniel 3 and Shadrach, Meshach and Abendego and their resistance to the King. They end up being tossed in the fire but out of the fire rises a fourth person to defend and protect them. In our world today, burning under the fires of racism, white Christians are called to be the fourth person in the fire - alongside our brothers and sisters of colors who have been asked to bow down to the god of America. 

In this episode we will be exploring Jonah 2 and Psalm 116. In both of these passages we see examples of the Lord's deliverance in the midst of difficult and life threatening situations. It is through God's deliverance that we learn to live again - to live as God's people - as followers of Christ where we are called to be the hands and feet of God in the world. In these times we can learn how to still be the church, even in the midst of separation. How is Christ calling you to continue being the church? 

Doubt is something uniquely human - we all have doubts, we doubt ourselves, at times we doubt loved ones, ideas and institutions. In the Christian community doubt is often frowned upon and leads Christians to criticize other Christians for their lack of faith. This is sad. Doubt can strengthen our faith as it allows us to ask questions - it allows us to seek answers to things that don't make sense or that seem at odds with what we know today (centuries later). This sermon reflects on John 20:19-31 and the story of "Doubting Thomas." 

For Palm Sunday, April 5, 2020, we are looking at Matthew 21:1-11 and Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem and its significance in kicking of Holy Week. Packed in these 11 verses we see the threefold office of Christ - King, Prophet and Priest and learn that our salvation in Christ isn't a one time thing but something that is constantly happening in our daily lives.
