Laughter is the Best Medicine

Listen Later

Hosts: Darlene Ondi, Kate Miller, Heather Paige, Piper Burch, Belinda Muse

Darlene starts off the episode by sharing that she has always been a Dreamer! There was a time in her life that she had forgotten to laugh. She went to Google to find that children laugh 300x to every 20x an adult does (isn’t that ridiculous??!!!). Darlene goes back to the archives of a few hilarious incidences at church, and she wasn’t the only one.

In the past Kate used to worry about criticism around her singing. With her new singing partner she has discovered that feeling safe and being able to laugh during practices that she has never felt better as a singer. They find their mistakes funny. Laughing has been very healing and healthy for her. You’ll also get a kick hearing her “crawl through the window Christmas Tree story”.

Belinda speaks to the art of being able to laugh at yourself. She chuckled as she reminisced about a story where she was out at a professional presentation “looking all fine” and recalled a man that was paying a lot of attention to her legs. She thought that he really liked her legs until the “receptionist” shared that she had on two different color shoes! She later spoke to the “Infectious Laugh”, that you don’t need to see someone, you simply hear them.

Heather talks about the bonding times with her son and how they love to watch funny movies. She reminded us of the movie based on a true story called Patch Adams. Robin Williams did such a remarkable job (miss that man!) in his role. Heather shared that it’s about changing the radio station to consciously lift the mood and heal yourself.

Kate then came back in with her own true story around changing her mood by doing HA, then HA HA, then HA HA HA and then taking her pic. She was laughing so hard at herself that she said it is one of her favorite pictures of herself. She switched her mood simply by CHOICE!
