In this Sunday’s sermon, we explore Luke chapter 5, verses one through eleven. Jesus finds Simon Peter and his fisherman friends after an unsuccessful night of fishing. They had worked all night and caught nothing. Jesus, a carpenter, gave these professional fishermen instructions to go into the deep water and fish right then, during the day. Net fishermen fished through the night, they fished the shallow water, and they knew when they were too tired to keep fishing. Simon Peter, in spite of his expertise, experience, and doubt, says OK and they follow Jesus’ instructions. As a result, the boat is overflowing with fish and help had to be called.

In this lesson we will learn how that Jesus knows so much more than we do. We’ll discover that submitting to His instruction yields success, even when we have our doubts about the things to be done. This might be a real turning point for some of us to surrender our pride in our knowledge and understanding to just trust Him. This may well be the most important sermon of 2019. Plan to be here.
