After 571 shows, Umphrey’s McGee finally plays rare original tune “Keefer” at a recent show in Knoxville. The song was written in 2009 to honor their fan Chris Keefer who died far too soon. Toubab Krewe returns to the road after a major hiatus. Their fall tour kicked off last weekend and will run though mid-November, stopping in Austin, Houston, New Orleans, Brooklyn, New England and Florida. Also on tour this fall is TAUK, who launch their “Montage Tour” on September 15th in Burlington, Vermont. That tour will wrap on November 24th at the Bowery Ballroom in NYC.

Some of our favorite jam bands have announced fall tours with headlining shows and festival appearances, including the String Cheese Incident, the Disco Biscuits, and STS9. Additionally, members of Umphrey’s McGee, moe., Snarky Puppy and the Gregg Allman Band will come together on September 23rd and 24th to celebrate the music of the Allman Brothers Band. The show is billed “The Road Goes On Forever” and it’s a special Brooklyn Comes Alive event.

The annual Northwest String Summit kicks off this weekend in North Plains, Oregon.
