Laura a single parent of 3 boys, the eldest is non-verbal with autism and epilepsy Riley, Laura’s eldest boy is in the room and joins in the conversation at times, also Theo one of his twin siblings comes in and out also sharing what its like to have a brother like Riley. Laura talks about epilepsy, medication and how Riley communicates. Laura tells me how the family were put forward to go to Disney land, Florida with Starlight-a charity for life limiting illness, and that they stayed in the ‘Give Kids the World Holiday complex.’ Laura has been running Spectrum Club in Northampton for 14 years, privately hiring venues for families with additional needs so they can experience activities like cinema, ice-skating, bowling and farms among many other venues. The families feel safe among other families like themselves being in a non-judgemental environment where their children can be themselves.
