Laura Stoker discusses her experiences and views of what works well when teaching quantitative methods to undergraduate social science students. She covers preparation, theory and practical examples, methods, assessment and a wide range of teaching and learning resources. The talk was given as part of a workshop in June 2012 at the Department of Sociology, University of Oxford, for the QMteachers project www.sociology.ox.ac.uk/qmteachers. Laura Stoker is Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley, where she lectures on quantitative methods and analysis.
