Lauren Smith-Fields was a beautiful 23 year old woman who was found dead in her apartment in Connecticut on December 12, 2021. It appeared Lauren had died after a date with a man she met on Bumble, a dating app. Lauren had no known medical issues, no history of drug abuse and no known enemies. Despite all of these factors, the police did not open a criminal investigation into Lauren’s death for over a month.
