Lavie Popack“ Building businesses from scratch” Lavie Popack is a serial entrepreneur dating back to his college days where he studied Finance in the evenings while managing hundreds of properties in the New York City area during the day. He always had an interest in sustainable technologies, and after the monopoly from the energy companies was deregulated, he started MPower Energy to provide renewable energy from solar and wind farms to homes and businesses. Within a few years, MPower scaled into a national business with offices in multiple states that provides renewable energy to thousands of homes and businesses. Their quick growth can be attributed to a strong direct response team through a sister company called MPower Direct. It was through MPower Direct that Lavie was not only able to scale MPower Energy, but also led to his next business idea. Working with distributed sales teams around the world and outsourcing to call centers, revealed the challenges and risks associated with an outsourced outbound campaign. Lavie saw this as an opportunity and hired a team of developers to help him create Overpass; a cloud-based platform that allows a business to hire remote reps, set up calling campaigns and manage it all seamlessly. Since its inception, Overpass has made a difference in thousands of fundraising campaigns for NGO’s and non-profits, as well as contributed to the success of countless outbound sales campaigns for businesses around the world. In the next few years, both companies have ambitious plans to continue their work of helping the world become an even better place for the current and future generations! In this interview Lavie shares: Getting ground up experience   Understanding the energy industry The dynamics of direct marketing Building a sales force Creating company systems Disrupting the call centers industry Running two companies simultaneous Educate yourself on your industry as much as possible Call center solution for non-profits   To recommend someone for an interview and to reach Rabbi Werde, email [email protected]
