The meetup with Schilling at Mackenzie's Hideaway takes a disturbing turn as Smiley, Steinmetz, and Walenski compare notes on Samantha’s disappearance, cross paths with figures from Smiley’s past, and witness a bizarre event that suggests something unnatural is spreading through town. With Chief Stanley demanding answers and old secrets becoming harder to ignore, the group prepares for a confrontation that may bring them closer to the truth—or place them directly in its path.

Smiley, Walenski, and Steinmetz return to a familiar Milford home in search of answers about Samantha Burke’s disappearance. What begins as a backyard trespassing incident quickly spirals into awkward confrontations, old memories, a new ally, and one very unfortunate gas station emergency. As the team digs deeper into the cold case, Milford’s past starts pushing back.

Smiley returns to the places and people most deeply tied to Samantha’s disappearance, only to find old grief, fragile hope, and impossible symbols waiting for him. As Steinmetz and Walenski dig into the mystery from a motel room and then join Smiley on a tense trip back to his childhood home, the past begins to feel less like a memory and more like something still alive, watching from the trees.

Meanwhile, Baker wakes up at a remote rest stop and quickly finds himself trapped in a situation spiraling far beyond his control. With law enforcement closing in, the children growing stranger, and supernatural forces erupting into the open, Baker is forced into survival mode once again. By the end, both sides of the story are pulled toward unsettling revelations: one buried in a childhood treehouse, the other waiting on the road ahead.

Baker’s desperate flight takes a brutal turn when Walker finally catches up to him on a lonely desert road, demanding the Ai-Apa Amulet and forcing a confrontation that leaves both men broken, wounded, and at the mercy of darker forces. With one agent hunted on the road and another digging into the past, the cell finds itself split between survival and obsession — and both paths may be leading toward something far larger than they understand.
